Miss Julie's Philosophy of Teaching
My philosophy of teaching has been forever evolving throughout the years; once new batches of students come through the door, my philosophy alters. It is important as an educator to realize that each student learns differently and to try and grasp their way of learning to better assist them. It is crucial that each student feels comfortable expressing their thoughts and ideas in a judgmental free atmosphere. A teacher's ultimate goal is to help and assist their students for success. I believe as a teacher it is important to keep an open door for communication, and it is very important to me that my students feel comfortable coming to me whether the issue is about academics or not. Going through school, I remember those teachers that had the biggest impact on me; and those were the ones that were there for me outside the academic calendar. I have a passion to guide my students through the learning process in the most stress-free way I can. I need my students to understand that it is important to learn from me, but more importantly… to learn from each other.
